Embodying Divine Masculinity Femininity

Embodying Divine Masculinity & Femininity

Written by Cheri Stirling

Feminine and masculine energy each carry unique strengths that, when embraced in harmony, help us find a deeper sense of balance within ourselves and in our relationships. The feminine brings intuition, nurturing, creativity, and receptivity, while the masculine offers direction, protection, stability, and action. Within us, these energies help shape our identity and guide how we respond to the world; within marriage, they create a sacred dance of leading and supporting, listening and expressing. When honored in both partners, this balance fosters deeper connection, mutual respect, and a shared strength that allows love to flourish.

Masculine and feminine are all around us. In the world around us, in our actions, in our personalities. Once we learn to see the world in terms of masculine and feminine, we will see pieces of our Heavenly Parents all around us.

In her book, ‘Consider Yourself as Eve,’ Meghan explains the purpose of aligning with our physical bodies. “A fullness of intelligence requires our spirits to be “inseparably connected” to our “element,” our bodies. The end-goal of united souls and the reality of gendered bodies reveal that our spirits are similarly gendered, masculine and feminine. Female bodies are inhabited by feminine spirits, male bodies house masculine spirits. Both women and men have a degree of the opposite energy as well, just as the yin/yang symbol suggests. However, the ratio of spirit should favor our gender for us to be considered spiritually balanced.” Just like a yin-yang has a small piece of the opposing color in each piece, we too will have characteristics of both, but we will feel the most peace and satisfaction when we are living in a way that reflects our physical bodies most of the time.

Reconnecting to Femininity

As women, it can be difficult to step into femininity. Our society is enshrouded in the masculine, emphasizing achievement, productivity, and constant hustle. These can be good qualities, but often, lead women to burnout, frustration, and overwhelm. Women can step into their femininity in a few ways:

Embrace Your Intuition

Many people talk about ‘a mother’s intuition’. Women are blessed with a spiritual connection to their inner voice. When making decisions, women can embrace their femininity by slowing down and feel into decisions rather than rushing to logic every time. Take some time to breathe, and listen to your spiritual connection for answers to your questions.

Move with the Flow

We live in a world that worships productivity, filled with tracking apps, color-coded calendars, and constant to-do lists. But for women, releasing the grip of rigid schedules and inviting in space for rest and spontaneity can be profoundly healing. A woman’s body moves in cycles, her hormones shifting like the moon as they prepare her to nurture life. These natural rhythms bring fluctuations in energy, focus, and emotion. When women learn to honor and flow with these cycles, rather than resist them, they often find deeper balance, not just mentally, but physically and emotionally as well.

Create Beauty & Life

Women are not only life-bringers in the physical sense—as mothers—but also in the way we infuse life into the spaces and people around them through softness, warmth, and presence. We can lean into this gift by surrounding ourselves with beauty: a vase of fresh flowers, meaningful photos, or small touches that bring joy to our everyday spaces. Wearing clothes that feel both radiant and comfortable is another way to honor this energy. Creativity, too, is a powerful feminine expression. Whether it’s painting, dancing, writing, or music, engaging in creative flow allows a woman to reconnect with her inner self and feel truly alive.

Many of us have been shaped by a culture that rewards outcomes—grades, productivity, performance. But the feminine thrives not in the result, but in the journey. Embracing the process, the unfolding, the becoming—that is the essence of feminine wisdom.

Practice Emotional Presence

Another powerful way women can reconnect to our femininity is by allowing ourselves to feel deeply, embracing the full spectrum of emotion: joy, sadness, longing, and love. As a society, many of us have become disconnected from our emotions, often as a response to trauma, neglect, or mental health struggles. At some point, it felt safer to numb ourselves than to face the pain and complexity of life. But healing begins with reconnection. When we learn to feel again—and to honor the messages our emotions carry—we return to the heart of who we are.

Prioritize Rest and Receptivity

Just like the moon moves through phases of brightness and shadow, times when it’s fully visible and moments when it disappears from view, the feminine journey flows through cycles of activity and rest. There will be seasons of outward energy, creativity, and productivity, and others that call for inward reflection, restoration, and quiet. Recognizing and honoring these natural rhythms is key to embracing your feminine essence.

As women, we often feel pressure to keep going, to meet endless expectations, to pour ourselves into others without pause. But true strength also lies in knowing when to slow down. Allow yourself the space to step back. Make rest a ritual, not a reward. Schedule downtime the same way you would any appointment: block off evenings for a bath, journaling, or a walk in nature. Create small routines that soothe your nervous system—lighting a candle, playing calming music, baking a special treat—signal that it’s time to unwind.

Learning to rest without guilt can be a challenge, especially if you’re used to equating productivity with worth. But guilt is not a requirement for growth. Start by replacing “I should be doing more” with “I deserve to feel whole.” Understand that stillness isn’t idleness—it’s where feminine energy is deeply renewed. You don’t have to earn your rest. You simply have to allow it.

And most importantly, permit yourself to receive. Whether it’s accepting help without apologizing, receiving love without deflecting, or simply saying “thank you” when given a compliment, receiving is a powerful act of receptivity. Practice it daily. When someone offers support, accept it graciously. When your body asks for gentleness, respond with kindness. Receiving is not weakness; it’s a sacred part of the feminine experience.

Connect with Your Body

One of the most powerful ways to reconnect with your feminine spirit is by coming home to your body. Many of us have disconnected from our body – due to avoiding our emotions, body image issues, or being constantly caught in our thoughts. Practicing slow, intuitive movements—like gentle yoga, stretching, or dance- invites you to move not for performance, but for presence. These movements awaken your senses and help you inhabit your body with grace and awareness. When you treat your body as sacred—nourishing it with wholesome foods, listening to its signals, adorning it with care, and allowing yourself to feel pleasure in simply being—you deepen your relationship with the feminine within. Your body becomes not just a vessel, but a temple: a space where softness, strength, and spirit coexist.

Honor Cycles and Nature

Women’s bodies are deeply connected to nature, and one of the most powerful reflections of this is the parallel between the menstrual cycle and the phases of the moon. Both move in roughly 28-day rhythms, mirroring each other in a quiet cosmic dance. Just as the moon transitions through darkness, growth, fullness, and release, so too does the feminine body cycle through menstruation, follicular growth, ovulation, and the luteal phase. Embracing cyclical living means honoring these phases—allowing yourself to rest during your inner winter (menstruation), create and plan during your spring (follicular), shine and connect during your summer (ovulation), and reflect and prepare during your autumn (luteal). When you live in alignment with your body’s natural rhythm, rather than resisting it, you unllock a deeper sense of empowerment, intuition, and connection to your feminine essence.

Reclaiming Healthy Masculinity

In ‘The Family Proclamation, ’ it states, “By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families.” Masculinity provides structure and order. Men, as they step into their masculine roles, discover a sense of purpose. There are several ways that men can do this, allowing space for the women in their lives to relax into the feminine as they create a safe, protected environment.

Cultivate Purpose & Responsibility

Cultivating purpose and taking full responsibility for one’s life are foundational to stepping into true masculine energy. When a man discovers his deeper “why”—a mission that gives his life direction—he begins to move with clarity, confidence, and intention. Purpose gives him focus; it channels his energy into something meaningful beyond fleeting pleasure or approval. Alongside this, responsibility acts as the backbone of masculine strength. It means owning your choices, your emotions, and your outcomes without blame or excuses. This isn’t about perfection, but about maturity—rising to meet life with accountability and integrity. Together, purpose and responsibility form a powerful inner structure that helps a man embody leadership, presence, and grounded masculinity in every area of his life.

Create Structure & Discipline

Creating structure and practicing discipline are key ways a man can step into his masculine energy and become a stabilizing force within his home. Structure provides the framework for safety and consistency—whether it’s through daily routines, clear communication, or dependable leadership. Discipline is the quiet strength behind that structure, allowing a man to show up even when it’s hard, stay grounded under pressure, and lead by example. When a man brings order to his own life, he naturally creates a sense of security and direction for those around him. His presence becomes an anchor—especially for his partner and children—offering calm in chaos and clarity in confusion. In this way, discipline is not about rigidity, but about devotion—to growth, to love, and to building something lasting.

Protect and Provide (Energetically & Emotionally)

Protecting and providing go far beyond physical strength or financial support—they are sacred expressions of masculine energy that reflect the heart of God. When a man chooses to protect his family emotionally and spiritually—by being present, creating a safe environment, and offering steady, loving leadership—he becomes a reflection of divine strength. Providing, too, is not just about material needs, but about offering his time, attention, wisdom, and unwavering support. These acts of care connect a man to his higher calling, drawing him closer to God as he mirrors the protective, steadfast love of the Father. In doing so, he also deepens his bond with his family, earning their trust not just through words, but through consistent, selfless action. True masculinity is found in this quiet strength—in being a shelter, a guide, and a source of peace for those he loves.

Build Inner Strength & Practice Embodiment

Embodying masculinity through both physical and inner strength leads a man toward a life of deeper fulfillment and spiritual alignment. When a man commits to strengthening his body—through movement, discipline, and care—he honors the vessel God has entrusted to him. But even more vital is the cultivation of inner strength: the courage to face challenges, the resilience to stand firm in truth, and the humility to surrender when needed. This balance of power and surrender draws a man closer to God, because true strength is rooted not in dominance, but in divine alignment. It’s in the quiet battles of character, the unseen sacrifices, and the unwavering pursuit of purpose that a man discovers fulfillment—not just in what he does, but in who he is becoming. In this embodiment, he reflects the strength, grace, and glory of the One who created him.

Becoming One

As couples each step into their divine design—masculinity and femininity in their pure, empowered forms—they not only grow individually, but draw closer to one another in sacred harmony. When a man embodies strength, purpose, and protection, and a woman embraces intuition, nurture, and grace, their energies don’t compete—they complement. Together, they create a beautiful balance that mirrors the divine partnership of our Heavenly Parents. In this union, love deepens, trust flourishes, and their home becomes a reflection of heaven on earth. By honoring their unique roles while walking in unity, couples experience a higher kind of intimacy—one rooted in reverence, mutual support, and eternal connection.
